Overview
Mario Kart Tour, a kart racing mobile game, was released by Nintendo in 2019 for iOS and Android devices. Although this game is designed for phones, tablets and computers with the proper OS are also able to operate. This game has very rich characters and cars (more than a hundred to choose from), and the lovely cartoon design can help you to get some relaxation in the tense racing game.
Gameplay
You can challenge yourself with the single-player mode, or you can use the multiplayer mode to compete and make friends.
► Single-player mode: win tours and unlock cups by winning races and challenges. Earn Grand Stars to unlock tour gifts and more cups.
► Multiplayer mode: compete for first place with players around the world. There are multiple races in this mode:
- Standard Race: compete with other players (maximum 8) to win the round.
- Gold Race: only available for players who have the gold pass, which can give you the opportunity to ride a 200cc car.
- Local/Friend Room: Group games with friends around you, and if there are not enough people there will be computer players to make up for the slots. You can choose a 50cc car in this mode.
► Coin Rush: collect as many coins as possible
► For all modes and races, you need to use items (e.g., banana, green shell, mushroom Bob-omb) wisely to protect yourself and attack opponents.
Review
Nintendo is commonly accepted as one of the greatest video games company in the present day. The values of the company and its total earnings throughout the years have greatly increased over the year from the 1980s. There are so many games being brought up to the table throughout the years. Mario Kart Tour is one of the great games that’s Nintendo’s attempt to compete with the free downloadable games in the mobile phone market.
The game is a wholesome game and the driving experience the game offers feel smooth the overall gameplay is satisfied with the majority of players of the game. The races are restrictive and simpler in the Mario Kart tour series. The control system is interesting in the game and you should pay attention in the next portion of this passage if you ever want to be a part of this game. The game is well designed for single-handed devices such as your mobile phones. It’s quite clear that Nintendo is trying its best to fit into the generation social norms now on the video games market. There are so many people playing free video games on their phones now. Because it’s cheaper and you don’t have to spend anything and its’ certainly more convenient and easily accessible to play video games on your phone. So it must be a big challenge for the company of Nintendo and it’s interesting to see how they publish Switch and won back a part of the cake from all the competitors around the world. Anyway, back to the game, the formal and old courses are being readjusted and redesigned, and the single input touch controls work wonderfully in this game. The thing I love the most about the game is that it grants you the option to choose whichever way you want to control your Kart. You can always go the old-school traditional way or use the drift controls that are offered in the generation. It’s ok to ask what a drift control is which means that once you are turning, it automatically locks you in drifting as soon as possible. If you are a driver in the real world, then it simply means that every turn you make becomes adrift. It might take time to get used to the control but it’s always fun to play the Mario Kart Tour Series.
The tracks in this generation are relatively shorter time and the course is not that long to finish. So you don’t have to spend that long to enjoy the break from video games. The thing, I don't understand about this game is that there are only two laps of course you need to finish in contrast to the original 3 laps. For every car or kart racing game I have ever personally seen no matter which forms I’m playing the video games whether a VR or on my PC, it’s always 3 laps in most cases.
One of the flaws I don’t like it’s that the Mario Kart Tour is a single-player game. I feel like the whole goal of the Kart racing game is to have a good time with everyone around the world or just friends you have. If the Kart racing game lacks complements or social interactions with one another, it’s like a person lacking a heart which is for the Kart racing game, lacking the key function. It doesn’t make me feel proud after finishing a track knowing all my opponents are AIs, because people gain thrilling feelings and a sense of pride from competing with one another with no question asked.
