Published by Ubisoft and Nintendo and released in 2017, Mario + Rabbids® Kingdom Battle is a turn-based strategy game designed for Nintendo Switch. It can also be seen from the name of this title that it is a cross-over between Mario and Raving Rabbids. The game story is set to be very appealing. Characters from Rabbids and Mario are accidentally merged by SupaMerge, a visor designed by a genius girl. The fused characters, Mario and his friends are then sent by a Time Washing Machine into the Ancient Gardens and begin their adventure.

The game consists of one-third exploration and two-thirds turn-based combat. During exploration, players control a team of four (including Beep-0 and three heroes) to walk around the world and collect coins, and interact with items. During the combat, the heroes team and the enemies team take turns to move and attack.

► Choose your team members (heroes) but remember that your team must have Mario and at least one Rabbids character.

► Move your heroes, attack the enemies, and move forward.

► Hide behind a short wall to reduce the damage and hide behind a tall wall to avoid the damage.

► Surf the terrain before starting a battle; this can better prepare your team for the upcoming battle.

► Explore the Mushroom Kingdom intensively and collect as many coins as possible so that you can buy and upgrade your weapons.

► Don’t forget to upgrade your characters’ skill tree when you clear a world and obtain some power orbs.

► Look carefully at the goal of each battle because sometimes you don’t need to defeat all enemies to clear a battle.

Mario Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is a good game that will blow your mind after you try it. The game is an XCOM-style game with a lot of tactics and gameplay. It’s like a weird combination that it’s something that captures the player's attention. There are quite a lot of challenges that might take place in the gameplay and the game will be harder than you probably expect it to be.

Those tactical puzzles will make question the game and solving those will grant you a sense of satisfaction and pride. As a fan of Ubisoft’s, also as someone who plays Rainbow 6 Siege for quite a lot of hours, I’m surprised that two companies decide to create a game together. I love the elements from Mario of Nintendo and the elements from Rabbids of Ubisoft. There are just a lot of things to see in the game and it’s crazy to even think about different levels of the game because it just feels crazy how two companies could mix those completely different things to make this magical game happens. The game is fun stupidly but also hilariously that players will enjoy.

The game tells the stories with all kinds of AI and those familiar characters' faces to have the communication and convey to you the information you will need to know through time. The game is cute and funny and there are quite a lot of bold attempts at how the developer wants you to have a relaxing time as a fan of the game. The thing with all the funny things are mostly targeted to the audience of kids so if you are an old man who sees more than enough jokes in your lifetime, you will probably be disappointed with those adult-like jokes you were looking for. The Squad Based tactics game is one the best there is for the same genre game. The game has great designs and great UI that will help you to train while thinking about how to take covers and your ability to hit and so on. Unlike most tactics games where you feel like the game is challenging and at the same time daunting. Mario Rabbids: Kingdom Battle doesn’t make you go through all the choices and failure points so it’s a big surprise for me. I love this feature because I’m a relatively lazy person so I don’t want to spend too much time on one certain thing. It’s great to see the game only focus on the core material of the tactic games and the basic mechanism and also those basic puzzles.

You might think, wait for a second, is it still a good tactics game if they took away some of the features that other games have. Well, I’m here to tell you not at all. The game might seem easy at fast, but you will have to battle carefully and strategically to gain success. Mobility is your number one priority in this game. The game will also be harder to pass after a while and you will have to deal with the increasing difficulties while passing through levels. All those new types of enemies and the key of striking at the right time to make those crucial hits will guarantee your victories in the game. If you are a kid and want to try this game out, it’s also okay. You will also have the option to go on easy mode before each battle started. It’s a fun game and people enjoy playing it whether how old you are or if you ever tried a tactics game or not.
